Chelsey Gotell, Founder
Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
Chelsey Gotell is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and the founder of Etobicoke Osteopathy, a relationship-based clinic built on the belief that exceptional care starts with truly listening, and continues through how deeply we understand the body.
Etobicoke Osteopathy was created to restore trust between people and their bodies through care that is both clinically precise and deeply human.
Chelsey’s path into osteopathy was shaped by her years as a high-performance athlete, where she developed a deep respect for how the body adapts, compensates, and communicates when something is not working well. That perspective continues to shape how she understands load, adaptation, compensation, and recovery, not just in athletes, but in every body she treats.

Questions
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to care that looks at how your body functions as a whole.
It considers how joints, muscles, connective tissue, breathing, and internal systems work together, and how changes over time can lead to pain or dysfunction.
It is not about fixing your body. It is about understanding how it has been working to protect you.
What makes your approach different?
My approach focuses on patterns, not just symptoms.
I am not chasing quick fixes. I am looking at how your body is functioning as a system, and what is keeping it from changing.
I also place a strong emphasis on the relationship I build with my patients. Care is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in trust.
Why do you sometimes treat areas away from my pain?
Because your body works as a connected system. Where you feel pain is not always where the issue started.
Treatment follows the pattern, not just the symptom.
What happens during the first appointment?
Your first visit includes a conversation, full-body assessment, and treatment.
This is the beginning of understanding your body more fully.
What can osteopathy help with?
Osteopathy can support:
- Pain and injury
- Pregnancy, postpartum, and fertility
- Newborn and pediatric care
- Digestive, sinus, and stress-related concerns
- General feelings of being “off” in your body
How will I feel after treatment?
Some people feel immediate relief. Others feel a shift over the following days.
Your body continues to adapt after treatment.
Is treatment painful?
Treatment is gentle and adapted to your comfort.
The goal is to work with your body, not push through pain.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your body and what you are experiencing.
We will always have an open conversation about what makes sense for you.
Can I combine osteopathy with other care?
Yes. Osteopathy works well alongside other therapies.
The goal is to apply the right care at the right time, not to overload your system.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something comfortable that you can move easily in.
All treatments are done fully clothed, so choose clothing you feel relaxed and at ease in.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed.
Is osteopathy covered by insurance?
Most extended health plans include osteopathy, but coverage varies.
You will receive a receipt to submit for reimbursement.
